Not sure if this has been suggested before as it's a very big thing in rap. Rappers and hip-hop artists that you currently have signed on the label could recommend another artist that they personally want on the label, kind of like a cosign. If you choose to sign him, the new artist should have a large reputation boost equivalent to your label's artist's reputation. The artist on your label must have at least a five year long career before he/she can give a recommendation. The recommendations could be mainly based off of the potential of the up and coming artist while also factoring in their age.

Other rappers could maybe involve themselves into a rivalry, would add an interesting dynamic as opposed to one on one feuds.

Another feature suggestion is having unsigned artist put out a self produced mixtape or demos. These mixtapes or demos could occasionally chart and get the attention of big labels.

Second one. Do you mean your artists can create releases without going through you?

I'm not sure if you are addressing the rivalry or mixtape point.

For the second point, other label mates could drop disstracks on the rapper an artist on your label is beefing with. Like, 50 v Ja Rule, where multiple artists got involved and dissed each other.

As for the mixtapes,

It should be for unsigned artists so that they can get the attention of labels or maybe get on the charts on their own without a label. This could also make it easier for the player to decide which artists to sign.

I just thought of another idea. Perhaps there could be a magazine, like The Source, which rates albums and maybe mixtapes by unsigned artists and has an unsigned hype section. The magazine could also have something like the annual XXL freshman section and interviews. The interviews could feature artists.who recently released a project or an artist who is in a rivalry, the interviews could also be based on the hype bar.

Also, maybe a few artists could be randomly generated every year so as to increase the number of unsigned options.

Good idea, the hype thing would only be beneficial towards their sales rather than getting a contract with a label, since reputation plays a major role into getting a record deal. Having mixtapes be released independently should be applied to artists under 50 reputation in all regions in addition to the unsigned part.

XXL Freshmen could be a re-wrapped Wendy Williams Show (to save both time on coding and easier workload for the game). In this case, there should be maybe 10-20 hip hop artists (some may be already-generated hip hop artists, some be randomly generated names to fill in roster) and be given interviews over the course of 2 months. Each interview will have a re-wrapped audience reaction and rename it something like "Chances of being in XXL Freshmen: [insert probability]", to which "insert probability" will be something around "Likely" or "Uncertain", much like a magic 8 ball.... Just an idea :)

Mixtape might be outdated, now days people release music on soundcloud, Spotify, YouTube, etc. they are usually called EP’s nowadays. It’s easy to do your own distribution with apps like distrokid and tunecore.

To add to suggestions, social media should play a bigger role in blowing up a artist.
