I made several changes such as award show elements, award shows, controversies and global events. When I check the editor now after the update 921, it looks like the default version. None of my changes was there anymore. Does this mean I have to redo everything?

Yes but I didn't save it under another name.

Ok so I will always recommend you start it under a new database.

The reason being is when the game updates if I have an updated realartist db it will override yours.
