Test saves

Hey, thanks for reading/following.

I'm a little bit bored with my main save and curious how the game works so I'm going to test some things.

Earlier today I had a writing session of a mediocre artist (50 writing) in a great studio under excellent conditions and it produced good songs.

Now I'm going to start saves with different types of customized artists to see how they do under different circumstances.

First up:

A bad artist with great reputation:

17tn3tB.jpg

Singer/pianist, but only 25 role ability for playing the piano.

RHDavax.jpg

He is confident and professional, and fairly responsible, but otherwise mediocre or frankly quite a bad musician.

His current ability and potential ability is 25.

His reputation is 75 everywhere except in the USA where it's 100.

First thing I see after I started the game is that he has already featured in a collaboration. Must be the reputation. lol

Because I'm curious how this all works, which stat has what influence, I'm going to settle for mediocre songs with this fellow's first album.

So I bought a few songs:

Call It How I See (Pop, 35 lyrics)

Hang Tough (Pop, 27 lyrics)

Might Be Your Love (Pop, 94 lyrics).

The first album will be a purely Pop album, just to see how it does.

After the purchases I started a writing session:

20 days, excellent conditions, no vocal producers, no mixers, the best studio, just Johnny writing by himself.

Before he was finished, he already had three interviews with radio stations and a collab with Carly Rae Jepsen.

He also performed at a festival. And had another collab, with Lil Wayne lol.

This is what he came back with from his writing session:

I'm curious how good of an album this can become still, with such an untalented artist (recording ability 25).

So I hired a good Executive Producer (88 lyrical, 100 melody, 96 commercial) and went to the best studio,

and Ryan Tedd to produce some of the songs.

It came back pretty good actually: 64 lyrics, 85 melody, 83 commercial.

I don't have a lot of money left so if it bombs it's the end of the save. lol

Well, he debuted number 1 worldwide, selling over 1 million records.

The record has a reputation of 76. So I guess it'll have staying power too.

Not quite what I had in mind when I started this save but I guess this at least gives me enough money to experiment a little longer with this save.

Other genres, albums without promotion, really awful albums and see how they do, etc.

Week 2: still #1 in USA/worldwide.

I released a single. Because this is an experiment I released the worst song (53, 87, 79).

My artist's hype is maxed out.

Week 3: Still #1 in America, and worldwide.

The album's reputation is the USA is 100.

One of the album tracks is charting. (US Billboard, #6).

Week 4: still #1.

Week 5: still #1.

Week 6: still #1 and the single enters the charts at #1 (song rep = 100).

I feel like this is too easy. But okay I gave him 100 reputation.

Week 7: album still #1, single drops to #3.

Week 8: album down to #2 (worldwide still #1), single stays at #3.

Week 9: album back to #1, single stays at #3.

Week 10: album still #1, single down to #6.

Week 11: album down to #2, single out of the top 10.

Week 12: album still #2.

Week 13: album back to #1. 😮

The album sold 9,9 million copies so far worldwide.

So, we get the picture. 100 reputation is OP.

However, I'm going to test it a bit more. With at least two more albums.

One really bad album, and one country album.

As mentioned, Johnny gets to perfrom on festivals.

He doesn't do as badly as you'd expect (with his Live Ability of 25):

MCj8hEa.jpg

Maybe it's because the songs are decent?

Despite his hiatus he did write 9 songs (I had just sent him on a writing session):

F4cIqfo.jpg

They're all country songs as I want to test how well a bad country record would do coming from a 100 rep artist.

Johnny is back from hiatus. It's funny he did two collabs during his hiatus.

I'm sending him on a writing session for to complete his country album.

I will be hiring a less than average producer for the album.

Johnny is ready to record his 2nd album.

The producer I hired has values of 20 for lyrics, 47 for melody and 49 for commercial.

Production has started. It's going to take 59 days. I think that's longer than they normally take to make.

Maybe this is because it is a country album and that his versatility isn't high. Or because the producer and studio aren't as good.

I reloaded to test if it would happen again and it didn't.

I entered a song for the World Cup: Peace Be. It's very low rated.

The newest single of his 2nd album is out:

FBqdLCF.jpg

21st in week 1. It is the best song of the album (56/68/64) and I did promote it.

The song has a reputation of 93 (USA). But it is Country music so that obviously also limits the potential sales.

Wow it totally crashed in week 2:

UE3EKGq.jpg

Dropped 72 spots. Globally it dropped 74 spots.

I wonder if this because it is country music. Probably because the song has a 100 reputation now in the USA.

Purple Rain is out of the charts. It sold roughly 500,000 copies worldwide.

It only made 800,000 dollars on a 4,2 million budget. But the videos made a profit.

The album debuted at #8:

I did promote it a lot.

NEW SAVE!

The label's reputation is 50 everywhere.

Artists:

Drew Goodman (Hip-hop): Rapper/DJ, One Hit Wonder, born in LA, 20 years old.

stats and reputations imported from Bruce Springsteen:
I3kaLUm.jpg

But he's a one hit wonder so we will see how that plays out.

I'm still curious how a country singer will work so here we have:

Jessie Parker (Country): Singer/Guitarist, born in Tulsa, 22 years old.

These are her abilities:

kepcGUe.jpg

So she is professional and cute, patient and charismatic and responsible. But she isn't great at making music.

And she starts with 1 reputation everywhere.

I would like to add a band but I'm too lazy for to create like four people plus a band profile for it so I'm going to stick with solo artists.

But let's do a rocker:

Jason Jones (Rock/Pop Rock): Singer/Guitarist, born in Indianapolis, 34 years old.

50 reputation in USA, 35 in European countries and Canada, 20 in the rest.

Here's his profile:
m036ACX.jpg

So he's really a good musician.

And then a DJ:

D.J. Jurgen (Techno/Drum & Bass, EDM): DJ, born in Bremen, Germany, 19 years old.

JXTS0Ip.jpg

Starts with 1 reputation everywhere.

Hozier (Indie):

39zNp15.jpg

merlin_144893310_a84be9f7-e13c-4931-b935

Low reputation mostly everywhere.

Jennifer Hudson (R&B, Soul, Pop):

MV5BMTM5NTczMDU5OV5BMl5BanBnXkFtZTcwNDI0

AxI1gz9.jpg

Great recording and live ability! Decent rep in the UK and Africa and Australia, but only 13 in the USA.

Bruno_Mars_t1024.jpg?b3f067808e872500b33

Bruno Mars (R&B/Pop):

UlCXTfw.jpg

Anouk (Indie):

?appId=21791a8992982cd8da851550a453bd7f&

Dutch singer, 45 years old, kind of alternative. Very famous in Holland and Belgium (also here in the game), not much outside of it.

GZKd4m4.jpg

Danny Vera (Rock/Blues) but blues isn't in the game...

?appId=21791a8992982cd8da851550a453bd7f&

QsmAduh.jpg

Reputation of 60 in the Netherlands, 25 in Belgium, 20 in Germany, 1 elsewhere.

Warren Ziggy (Reggae): Singer/Keyboard, 26 years old from Jamaica.

txoaWqm.jpg

Great artist with a great personality. But he only makes reggae. Maybe a little bit of indie. I don't know yet.

Reputation in Jamaica is 20, 5 in Africa and 1 in the rest of the world.

Beck (Indie/Country/Soul)

images?q=tbn:ANd9GcSE2NOOzsRLzqvIoMKKF9t

Na3ocfp.jpg

Rep is around 25 worldwide.

Jeff Francis (Punk): Singer/Guitarist, 23 years old from Seattle.

RZf8VA1.jpg

Strength of genres:

Hip-Hop: 40

Rap: 36

Country: 32

Rock: 34

Pop Rock: 35

Techno: 24

Drum & Bass: 20

Dance (EDM): 37

Indie: 33

R&B: 38

Soul: 25

Pop: 40

Reggae: 12

Punk: 15

Game played on level hard. Start date 01/01/2021.

For anybody who wonders what happened to that save:

Here we continue with a new save.

I'm making a 90s db but I want to test how it goes.

First up:

tTb7V2o.jpg

Guns N Roses

I have to test how they would do with their skills and reputation. I'm also testing whether or not the putting on hiatus works if you make a retro mod.

The album is ready. These are the best songs:

NM9m3G2.jpg

Overall rating of the album: 95/98/96

I'm going to test some things now.

- release it without doing promo

- release it with promo

- release it wih promo but release a single first with promo

- release the best single first without promo

- release another single first with promo and then the album and the best single

#1:

SUxD96w.jpg

Sold over 500k copies. Only thing I did was send it to radio stations (10k). 1,3m copies sold worldwide.

This is on level normal with them having 50 reputation in the USA.

One song from the album is charting. It's #3!

Week 2:

The album track is still #3 and the album is still #1. Sales dropped a little.

The band's hype is maxed out. I didn't promote at all.

Week 3: same

Week 4: track fell to #4, album still #1.

Week 5: track fell to $6, album still #1.

Time to release a single.

Week 6: track still at #6, album still at $1.

Week 7: track dropped to #7, album still at #1.

Week 8: singles:

9CP59De.jpg

Album is still #1.

Week 9: single down to #9, album track down to #3, album down to #2.

Week 10: single up to #7, album track down to #11, album down to #3.

The album has sold 10,690,000+ copies worldwide and made like 40 million dollars so far.

Week 11: single down to #8, track up to #10, album up to #2.

Their reputation is now 62 in America.

Week 12: single up to #6, track down to #11, album down to #3.

Week 13: single down to #10, track down to #20, album down to #4.

I just saw that it's actually week 14, not 13.

Anyway, I'm gonna sim like 2 months and see what the total sales of the album look like then.

Week 22: Album is #6 in the USA still. The single is at #47.

The single sold over 8 million copies and made like $4,3 million.

The album sold almost 13,7 million copies and made like $51 million.

This is all without promotion.

Ready for another save? I am.

I know, I know, probably wrong but it's a test

Here are his ratings:

4ZKzXdE.jpg

First album is out: 95/99/93 rating (I think).

A song has made it to #7 (without being released).

The album is #1 (by far).

New save:

this time I can manage multiple artists again!! Yay! Mark fixed it!

Just tried the same label so I have Sting and Guns N Roses again.

I sent Guns N Roses on a writing session with four writers instead of just one.

The other dragged the quality down.

So good moment to test a relatively poor lyrical album, and see if it can do well.

With Sting idk yet. I didn't change rep or anything.

Guns N Roses their album came back: 96-98-96 ratings.

I sent them in with weak lyrics (all 79 or lower), but this came out:

rJviInZ.jpg
