Yes, also because most of the times the strongest week it's the first one, from that one it's either stability or falling..there's not a proper chart run

But I don't have difficulties with the chart run. They managed to go up eventually. Maybe because mine is a white, pop artist from the US?

Race, country and genre really affects the chart run I suppose. Also other details like song ratings, your artist' reputation in North America.

About album tracks charting, I also noticed that if I release one of them as a single later the chart history in terms of charting positions only shows the one scored since the single release. Meaning: if a song from the album charts at #10 (for example), when it's released as a single and in that format only charts (for example) at #23, on the charting history or in the single details page it says that it peaked at #23, and not at #10.  Also, getting certifications and better sales it's very easy with songs that charts very well as album tracks before their release as a single, while singles released before the album (the one actually pushed) struggle to reach does numbers and don't get the same benefit from the album release streams

Exactly, I find it easier to wait until the album tracks debut on the singles chart and let it gain enough streams then release it as single. With this strategy, on the first week itself, the single would have gone platinum due to the streams accumulated previously as an album track.

However, its harder to push the single on it's own to the top of the charts before the album release, unless the reputation and ratings are sufficiently high.

  3. In this new game, I released an album, "Smokes and Mirrors" and I noticed a few things:

    1) There are two album tracks charting in the singles chart. However, one of tracks, "Cotton Candy" was already released as a single 6 months prior to the release of the album. I suppose this shouldn't happen right? Because right now, the sales and streams for "Cotton Candy" are now being counted separately (as a single and album track). The single version of this song has left the charts (but not off sale yet) and the album version is now charting within the top 10 of the US singles chart.

    2) Another issue that doesn't add up is the charting of album tracks. For eg, in this album, some of my album tracks with higher streams didn't enter the singles charts but other tracks with lower streams are charting instead.

    3) I know that due to our previous experience, you've decided to limit the charting to only 2 album tracks per album to prevent too much of album tracks flooding the singles chart. I noticed that the 100th song in the US chart has 20,000 sales which require roughly 3,000,000 US streams (no CD or digital sales included), which means that at least 6,000,000 or more worldwide streams are required (assuming that 40-50% of worldwide streams are coming from the US). Based on this calculation, all of the tracks from my album have more than enough streams to enter the singles chart. So, it feels unfair that they're not charting since they're eligible here.

But I also understand that if you change here, every other album tracks from all albums will enter the main singles charts like crazy. Therefore, I suggest that the requirement for album tracks to enter the singles chart should be raised higher, meaning greater streams to sales ratio (not using the 1: 150, maybe 1:1250 or something). But the limit of two per album should be removed in my opinion cause these days some artists even debut their entire album in the singles charts.

  4. Regarding the best tour/live act award, I see that only 1 artist is getting nominated and winning.

In the game, there are already plenty of highest grossing tours going on but they are not getting the recognition.

Seems like random tours are getting awarded?

  5. My debut single "Cotton Candy" is shown as number 1 in the worldwide charts, but this is impossible because there are so many singles above me in the continent charts that are selling well. My artist is only slightly famous in North America so the single debuted within the top 10 over there, but everywhere else, it's somewhere in the top 11-20 range.

However, in the worldwide singles chart, these other artists are completely missing and my artist is listed as number 1 instead. I noticed that before I release anything, these charts worked fine but once I released a single, the worldwide charts become messed up.

Additionally, the positions 33 - 100 in the worldwide singles chart has 0 total sales, even though these singles do have sales from CD, digital and streaming.

  6. I've noticed some errors in the award details during the ceremony. This happens in several of the awards really.

But, I'm only giving one example for this: the African Music Awards.

    1. There are 10 awards in this show but it said over there "4 number of awards to present".

    2. At the "Award Details" section, the no. of awards is also listed as 4 when clearly there are 10.

    3. I don't think "favourite single of the year" comes under this award show.

  7. This is not what we meant when we said we wanted to flop. In your case, it should definitely chart high since the ratings are all above 90.

I'm okay with being around top 20 or top 40 initially and then slowly making our way to the top.

But not even entering the top 100 with ratings like that seemed to be too extreme in my opinion.

I understand that with the new patch, getting ratings like that will be challenging and I'm fine with that but if we did somehow produce a great track, it should be given a chance to chart in the upper regions of the top 100.

@voothevoolian Have you checked the performance of the song in the next few weeks? Has it been rising or completely fallen off the charts?

Think I must have just missed that one.

If you want a saved game edited send it over.

Currently I'm still testing out the game by just simming continuously, trying to detect any issues. I guess once everything is alright, I shall properly start my game.

  9. Okay so I completely removed the game and did a fresh installation and began a new game with v025.

I cross-checked the sales numbers for a pre-made single by Ed Sheran in the places mentioned previously, and now they are all showing the correct figures, including in the top release sales list under "Music World".

The ONLY part that isn't matching up with the rest of them is the Total Sales under "Stats" > "Single statistics". I even confirmed this with another artist, Lil Wayne.

I really hope that you can take another look at this area here.

  10. While we're into this discussion, I also wanted to point out that only truly deserving singles should stay for multiple weeks at number 1.

These days, in real life, artists tend to have huge 1 debuts then plummet immediately off the top 10 or even top 20 by the following week.

So, I'm expecting something similar to happen in this game as well, but like I said, if it's a really good song then it can stay on top for a while.

There should also be instances where we debut at lower regions of the chart initially but we then slowly climb our way up to the top (through TV show appearances, award show performances, touring, streaming parties etc.)

  11. I have an update here.

I have released another single after the patch. And the total sales for singles are still different at all 3 places?

Nevermind, I better start a new game and check again.

If the single was on sale already at any point before the patch the data for that time is stored so cannot be edited (well without a massive amount of work) so any new data on top wouldnt correct the problem. If it was released after the patch it should be fine.

Okay I get what you mean ... another new game then lol.

    1. The Brits Best Male Solo was duplicated multiple times under TeenChoice, Billboard, Apra and Golden Melody awards.

    2. Oceania Album was duplicated as well in MTV Asia, Europe and Latin awards.

I'm seeing these things as well. The duplication of awards. Do I have to start a new game for this update?
