  1. The next week: same (sales dropped a little).

The next week: same. Both albums have a track in the top 10 still.

The albums have no hype. But the artists have maxed out hype.

The next week: Albums still #1 and #2. GNR's sales went up again. Album tracks still top 10 in singles charts.

    The next week:  same.

Guns N Roses sold 7,3 million copies in 6 weeks.

Sting sold 9,3 million copies in 8 weeks.

I might revisit Sting and GNR in a next save, but then I'll be having more artists. First I'm gonna edit stuff.

My lyrics are always above 90 but the melody and commercial are usually around 70-78 only. How do you get these two so high? I chose the best vocal producers, mixers, writers etc. lol

I think the key is best available producer + best studio . But also, this band is just really good. So maybe recording ability, creativity etc has something to do with it.

  3. Sting's Album: 95-99-95 ratings.

I went without promotion this time.

Guns N Roses their album came back: 96-98-96 ratings.

I sent them in with weak lyrics (all 79 or lower), but this came out:

    rJviInZ.jpg

Going to release it without promo too.

  4. New save:

this time I can manage multiple artists again!! Yay! Mark fixed it!

Just tried the same label so I have Sting and Guns N Roses again.

I sent Guns N Roses on a writing session with four writers instead of just one.

The other dragged the quality down.

So good moment to test a relatively poor lyrical album, and see if it can do well.

With Sting idk yet. I didn't change rep or anything.

  5. Next up:

    Sting

reputation 50 in Europe and 67 in the UK

I know, I know, probably wrong but it's a test

    Here are his ratings:

    4ZKzXdE.jpg

First album is out: 95/99/93 rating (I think).

A song has made it to #7 (without being released).

The album is #1 (by far).

LOL at the song my meat, does the hype increase the album sales? and did that album win any awards?

Lol. I think the band won best band somewhere. I haven't simmed far enough for the album to win anything.

It sold almost 14 million copies in 22 weeks (on 50 reputation for the band in the USA)

The single from it disappointed (still sold 8 million but with 100 commercial I expected more).

Whether that was a hype thing I don't know.

Wow great....Not sure about lady gaga or lana del rey in a 90's mod though

for the people who want to play until 2020+

She will be put on hiatus until her actual debut (like 4 months before). 👍

  8. Week 11: single down to #8, track up to #10, album up to #2.

Their reputation is now 62 in America.

Week 12: single up to #6, track down to #11, album down to #3.

Week 13: single down to #10, track down to #20, album down to #4.

I just saw that it's actually week 14, not 13.

Anyway, I'm gonna sim like 2 months and see what the total sales of the album look like then.

Week 22: Album is #6 in the USA still. The single is at #47.

The single sold over 8 million copies and made like $4,3 million.

The album sold almost 13,7 million copies and made like $51 million.

    This is all without promotion.

Ready for another save? I am.

Funny thing about this calendar, my artist was -1 years old in 2020 cause his year of birth is 2021. I think there should be a limit of minimum age for custom artists.

No this is great for retro mods!!! Just put them on hiatus (back to school until they're 18)!!!!

    Have mercy!

  10. Week 2:

The album track is still #3 and the album is still #1. Sales dropped a little.

The band's hype is maxed out. I didn't promote at all.

    Week 3: same

Week 4: track fell to #4, album still #1.

Week 5: track fell to $6, album still #1.

    Time to release a single.

Week 6: track still at #6, album still at $1.

Week 7: track dropped to #7, album still at #1.

    Week 8: singles:

    9CP59De.jpg

    Album is still #1.

Week 9: single down to #9, album track down to #3, album down to #2.

Week 10: single up to #7, album track down to #11, album down to #3.

The album has sold 10,690,000+ copies worldwide and made like 40 million dollars so far.

  11. #1:

    SUxD96w.jpg

Sold over 500k copies. Only thing I did was send it to radio stations (10k). 1,3m copies sold worldwide.

This is on level normal with them having 50 reputation in the USA.

One song from the album is charting. It's #3!

    DbWUOwR.jpg

  12. The album is ready. These are the best songs:

    NM9m3G2.jpg

Overall rating of the album: 95/98/96

I'm going to test some things now.

    - release it without doing promo

    - release it with promo

    - release it wih promo but release a single first with promo

    - release the best single first without promo

    - release another single first with promo and then the album and the best single

Very comprehensive list, there's a few I can think of who were huge, especially in England in the 90s

    Beautiful South

    Blink 182

    Boyzone

    Cast

    Eels

    Foo Fighters

    Kula Shaker

    Matchbox Twenty

    Muse

    Nine Inch Nails

    Ocean Colour Scene

    Placebo

    The Prodigy

    Roxette

    Shed Seven

    Stereophonics

    Suede

    Supergrass

    The Stone Roses

    Roxette I got.

And concerning the Foo Fighters I dont know what to do. Put Dave Grohl in the db twice? What would you do?
