  1. Hey Mark. Awesome game you got here. Been waiting since you announced it back in that year.

I was trying some stuff and I found some maybe bugs. I noticed the produced songs for my artists never reached more than 45 in commercial and not more than 48 in Melody, didn't matter witch vocal couch, mixer and producer I used.

So I tried to create new mixers and vocal people in the editor with 100% status in their ability, however only the vocal guys showed in the actual game play, the mixers never made it. And even with the vocal coach at 100% ability the songs never get done with more than 45 commercial and 48 Melody. Do you know why this could be happening? This is the only thing that is messing with me lol

So its a mixture of things to produce the end song as its the whole process. Without giving a full breakdown we have:

    Artist themselves - various stats

    Producer

    Studio

    Mixer

    Vocal producer

    Genre type

To name the main ones. I am by no means saying its working perfect as you the players feedback will direct where this goes I will just need to get a bit more information to tweak anything.

As for adding mixers, this could be a problem with the editor. If you load the database do you see the mixer you added in the editor now?

  2. Version 1.2.0.216

Removal of Windows XP support with the update of .Net version 4.6.

    Changes

    • Game now uses .Net version 4.6, this is an upgrade from version 4.

    • Sales code tweaked for both Albums and singles including increasing influence of local talent.

    • Added additional checks to auditions to make sure no problems later on.

    • Soundtrack offers will now break the simming to let you know.

    • Fixed bug where solo artists where showing as part of a band.

    • Artists are available as producers on album production now.

    • Achievements now given.

    • Fixed duplications on some worldwide charts.

    • Fixed bug where some genres returned no all-time chart entries.

    • Fixed bug with spouse dates for artists.

    • Automated music videos now working.

    • Awards for collaborations and remixes now shown.

    • Fixed bug where you could not cancel an audition.

    • Fixed bug with tours were ratings were very low commonly.

    • Fixed bug which allowed too many user points to be allocated.

    • User now paid dividend if owns part of the label still at AGM.

    • Fixed stat of no. of singles and albums for user artists/bands.

    • Some touring records fixed on Concertmaster.

  3. Was this artist Taylor swift in your save as I see no problems here at all. 23 songs listed on the list. You have to click down to add to lower list to keep going.

One of your bands had 10 songs but then again they only had 10 songs.

  4. I don't think its reasonable to expect Mark to include a comprehensive real life database for a game that's free.  This is something the community can do if some members feel it is needed.  This is how it has worked with similar games down the years ( I remember a number of mods for chart wars 3 back in the day all created by different people)

I know its impossible for him to create a real life database if the game is free. As an example, none of the sponsors are real, but it doesn't bother me, it's easily editable, but I criticize the fake artists forcefully inserted in the game. I don't think it's fair when you're playing as Eminem to sell less records than a fake Portuguese rapper in the United States and to lose a Grammy to a fake Lebanon rapper who has 100 ability. There's also a lack of polish when it comes to the database. Graham Norton and Jonathan Ross are there, but none of the American late night shows are in the game. Ellen DeGeneres is a man and not contracted to her show, X-Factor is in the game, but none of the judges are and that's just what's crossing my mind. I think it would have been beneficial for the game to have a more polished database instead of the gossip show, because it's almost a miracle for it to involve a real life talent and not two random Kenyan pop singers.

I understand Mark is working all alone on this game and he did a tremendous job for the game in general and I'm happy to play it, but these little details bother me. I've asked the community for their help in the database, but not many people expressed interest. I love the game, I truly do, but I want it to be even better.

Let me give you an idea exactly why this happens.

I know I cannot sit here and produce 2000 artists and make the database balanced enough for various things to work so I have to think what can I do. So random artists yes, random artists that cover the continents/countries yes, multiple criteria to try and add realism yes. UK is more prone to have certain genres such as indie but Afgan artists are unlikely to do indie music. Age ranges, balance of sexs, maybe one genre prefers one sex to other.

What people dont like is people they dont know but for this game to work they must exist unless someone produces a well balance genre list of artists/bands.

I have to think of the bigger picture im afraid.

Finally data entry mistakes will always happen, those I will correct as and when mentioned.

Cant wait to see any databases you (or others) produce, it will be great to see and play games with them.

  5. It does happen but it works like AI artists its regulated so to speak but I can assure you it happens. Remember most artists release one album per year maybe 2 on average. Releases come off of the back of this album.
