  1. I think you might not understand that Mark is just one guy with a job putting this free game out there for us to enjoy. To me, you are adding a bunch of things that are almost entirely altering the game, it's pretty clear that Mark doesn't have the time to do all these things, and probably doesn't have the "want to" either. The game is very good, it does need some polishing for sure, but let's start with 1 thing at a time and not a list of 8-10 things that need done. I just wish the whole touring system and function of the game would get a tweaking, that to me is where I would like to see any of Marks free time spent.
  2. Well in my experience, it's really not too hard of a game to get a artist or band and get #1 songs. I don't know what it means to get someone #1, but getting #1 hits is really no too hard. You need to build reputation and hype for your artists as far as I can see, in the current state of the game, that's all you really need to get top selling songs, albums and make money. Write, write, write. First thing is get your artists into writing sessions 10-15 days long, use the best writers, best mixer, best studio, best everything and your artist or band, will usually create high rated lyrical songs. Write until you get at least 10 songs, then go produce a album. For production, again, just use the best. If you have a 90+ lyrical rated song, just look for a producer that is rated high in melody and commercial. Choose the best studio, best mixer in tech ability and vocal producer. As far as I can see, preferred tempo and preferred genre really doesn't matter much. If it does matter, I have not seen it as I'm consistently getting 90+ rated songs and they are usually always hits. If you produce just one song at a time, that works too, but for me it just makes the whole concept seem more realistic if I have a album full of songs, I can see how good my album is, then I'll release a 1-3 singles from that album, then release the album along with a tour. Before you release songs and albums, just go release a few videos, then pick a region you want the artist to be popular in, for me, North America. Then go book shows. Just keep going to each one of the shows choose "Hi we're looking for our artist SO AND SO to come on your show" If you artist is low in reputation, you'll get declined and be given 4 options. I just always click on either "How about we buy some advertising..." option or "we feel with our reputation in the industry..." option. Again, there doesn't seem at this point in the game that there really is any reason not to keep trying. You don't get any sort of penalty that I can see if you just keep forcing the show to take your artist. Eventually, they will and you then can pick a day to put your artist on their show. It really doesn't matter either how many shows you put on a day, I think this will eventually be worked differently, but I've put up to 7 shows on 1 single day. Just keep doing this for maybe a month, just keep doing shows, all the shows, but make sure you get on the hit popularity shows in the area you want to build reputation. By the end of the month, your artist will probably have increased his reputation in an area by at least 30. Now release your 1st single. It is very expensive to release a single, so go to stocks, GO PUBLIC and then release some shares to raise money. Once you go through the steps to release a single, simulate and when it's time for your single to be released, just do the shows again. Your single will be released on a Monday and your rankings will come out the following Monday. So for the entire week, starting with the Monday your single will be release, go back to the shows in the region your single is being release and now instead of picking the option "...we are looking for our artist SO AND SO to come on your show" click the option "Hi when can our artist come on your show, they would like to promote their latest single." Do this again for the entire week, load up shows on every day. Then on the following Monday, you will see the charts, your single, if it is a high produced song, like 80+ and your artist is high in hype, which he/she will be since you have been doing shows non stop and has a decent reputation, then your single will pretty much be in the top 10 and if your artists reputation is in the 80+ range, then top 5 is pretty much a certainty. Then it's just up to you what you want to do from there, add more artists/bands, book shows for another region for your one artist and build his reputation so you can release singles and albums in other parts of the world, book a tour. As far as the best way to promote an artist to create hype, I don't know of any other way to do it. Tours are a good way to make money, but in it's current state, I find that the tour part of the game isn't entirely working well. It's ok, but there are a lot of things that are wrong with the current way they work in the game. I'll be interested to learn if anyone else does things differently.
  3. I'm not sure if this is a bug or just something that is a big annoying. I go to produce an album, I get a page saying any song produced or unproduced (but never on a previous album)... Right now I click the whole produce album buttons and when I get to the songs to select, it brings up every song. I can click on any song and add them to the album, even the ones that were on a previous album. It's getting pretty confusing to have to go and look which songs were on a previous album. So a bug or just something that could be looked at and see if it could be corrected, I don't know which one.
  4. There looks like there are a number of issues with the chart records. Just looking quick, Taylor Swift is the Top Selling Male and the Most No.1 are all, in my game, Nicki Minaj with 1.
  5. Did you accept the offer first? You have to accept the offer from the e-mail first.
  6. I just tried to run an audition in my new year, and it tells me I currently have one running. I don't. I ran one and it was completed, but it is stuck running I guess. Not sure if there is a fix to this in my current save, but I wanted to report this. I see nothing to stop the audition, all I can do is click on results and there are a bunch of artists that I don't want to sign.
  7. It's never worked for me either. I think this is just a feature that isn't in place yet, possibly something Mark includes when he is ever able to stop with the bug killing and can add some content. It's just like the weekly performance report, something that is there, doesn't really work, but in the future maybe this will be on the list to improve.
  8. I'm trying to attach a screen shot of one of my artists schedule. This is what it looks like when you click the schedule tab. The date in my game is January 3rd. As this screen shot shows, the calendar starts at January 7th, which doesn't make any sense that I couldn't see the actual date on the calendar unless I click the back arrow. Clicking the back arrow does not have January 3rd in red for me. I'll keep simming until I get to January 7th and see if that goes red. Regardless, I feel the calendar should be adjusted so I can see a month starting from the 1st, not starting from the 7th.
  9. After recent update, I don't see any date in red now. It's not duplicated which is good, but now it doesn't show anything. One issue maybe that right now, I am on January 3rd. I click on an artists schedule and my screen shows January 7th to February 10th. Something is wrong with that, what ever you call that, it probably should just show January 1st until February 1st, doesn't make much sense to show a month starting from the 7th.
  10. Just some added information. The above numbers were from my artist Taylor Swift. She was an original signed artist by my label, I set this tour up. I bought out a label and got Rihanna, who already had a tour scheduled. She finished her tour, which the AI had set up, when it was finished, my label got no money from her tour, but her tour ticketing shows $123, 093,216. So this artist, who had a tour set by the AI got all her tour money. So I'm not sure. It seems like money in the game is hit or miss. Bands are not getting their soundtrack money, but they got the tour money. Solo artist that I sign and set up tours are not getting their money, but this AI set up tour paid out the artist money.
  11. I notice that bands aren't receiving money for sound tracks. At least my band has done 2 sound tracks and has $0 in income showing.
  12. Touring is such a big thing in the game and I hope this is on the top of the list. I have a post talking about I don't think touring is effecting sales on current albums or singles, but other factors in touring don't seem to be working, or just aren't working at all. 1) What is the reason for opening acts? The 2 artists or bands don't seem to do anything nor do they get any benefits. I just came off a very big tour, yet the two opening acts got no noticeable increase in sales and neither got any money from the tour. Opening acts should get something, even if its tour merchandise money. 2) Tour performance, it doesn't seem to be right. I have Swift, 92 live, 100 tour practice and she had around 100% energy and yet her highest tour performance was 61/100. I had the 2 opening acts that had good reputation in the region the tour was running, they both have high live ratings and I made them 100 in tour practice. Like I said, this should be looked at, if you get good reputation opening acts, I think this should effect something. Also, if your opening acts have a good live rating and they have a high tour practice, then this should effect tour performance I would think. 3) Headline act tour income. I just had a tour with Swift, the main tour stats are this: Profit/Loss: $124,139,250, Artist Income: $116,295,555 and Label Income: $11,293,695, Merchandiser Artist Cut: 537,880 I see my label got the 11 mil, but Swift: Tour Ticketing: $0, Tour Merchandise: $0 I just had this big tour and none of the opening acts got anything, no benefits at all and Swift didn't make a dime. Doing some more looking, I noticed my band just finished a tour and they got all their money. So to me, it looks like a solo artist thing. I hope you can look into this and get this fixed.
  13. Another little thing I'm looking at right now is the effect on sales when an artist goes on tour. I'm pretty sure, besides they are big money makers, a reason to go on tour is to promote your songs and albums that are on the market or soon to be on the market. I've been to a concert and been with guys that look up a song an artist is performing live and buy the song from itunes or whatever. In Road 2 Success, I see no bump up in sales for any artist on tour, no singles increase in sales and no albums sale increase. Is there supposed to be an effect on sales for tours? If so, I don't think, in my estimate, that it's working.
